Your first visit to Pearl Dental includes a comprehensive new-patient dental exam designed to give our team a clear understanding of your oral and overall health. During this appointment, our doctor will review your full dental and medical history, answer any questions you may have, and discuss any concerns about your teeth, gums, or oral health. Since many medical conditions can show early signs in the mouth, sharing accurate health information helps us provide precise diagnostics and personalized care.
During your first visit, we will:
- Take full-mouth digital X-rays to identify current issues and establish a baseline for future exams. (The American Dental Association recommends a full series every three years.)
- Evaluate your gum health and screen for signs of periodontal disease.
- Examine your teeth for cavities, cracks, and the condition of existing dental restorations.
- Perform a head and neck exam, assessing salivary glands and lymph nodes for swelling or abnormalities.
- Screen for oral cancer and TMJ disorders, ensuring your jaw function and tissue health are thoroughly reviewed.
- Provide a professional teeth cleaning, removing plaque, tartar, and surface stains to leave your smile refreshed.
